Not so many know both men's lives have been affected deeply by diabetes. The disease claimed Iacocca's wife Mary in 1983 and was a major factor in his establishing the Iacocca Family Foundation for diabetes research. Chambers deals daily with Type 1 diabetes, even as he runs his 47 dealerships. When they have lunch together as they did over the July 4 holiday, something is bound to happen. Youkilis teams up with Herb Chambers

Kevin Youkilis of the Red Sox has a new job: When not slugging for the home town team, he'll be moonlighting as a pitchman for Herb Chambers Companies., a network of 46 automotive dealerships in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The company said Youkilis has agreed to a two-year endorsement deal. The agreement calls for the baseball star to appear in Herb Chambers commercials and to provide autographed items to dealerships for customer appreciation and community events. In exchange, Herb Chambers Cos. said it will provide Youkilis with a two-year lease on an Audi A8 from Chambers' Audi Burlington dealership. But Chambers, who never attended college, actually got his start selling copy machines, not cars, before he made the transition to dealerships in 1985. “I’ve always loved cars ever since I was a child,” he said.
