It probably won’t surprise you what my answer is to this question. Of course I think the dealer, particularly The Herb Chambers Companies, is a better choice. I obviously know my answer seems self-serving. However, I have plenty of facts to back up my contention. Conventional wisdom is that bringing your vehicle to an independent…
When you first lay eyes on a Maserati, your first impression is likely to ponder how fast it will go around a track; but you would be missing the true essence of these fine works of automotive craftsmanship. Maserati’s Italian styling is about feeling. It’s like opening a fine wine, that even before you pop the cork and breath the aroma as it pours into a glass, you know you’re getting a finer thing. I wanted to see if the Ghibli was that “glass of wine ” that I needed for my daily commute.
I was thoroughly satisfied with the Ghibli. The interior was everything I expected from an Italian luxury automobile. Amazing leather with snug seats, large touch control screen with navigation, and the cabin was quiet except for the 1,280 watt 15 speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium sound blissfully playing the song of my choice. These were just a touch of the adornments.
The Ghibli doesn’t follow the rules of your standard luxury car either. While many luxury cars sacrifice power for torque the Ghibli balances these making it more fluid and centered using an innovative 3.0 liter V6 built with passion by Ferrari in Maranello, Italy. And it balances well. With a 50/50 weight ratio it stays level throughout the turns giving you the comfort and luxury feel that stays consistent even at highway speed. If you absolutely need that Italian style power switch on Sport mode and Skyhook suspension and revel in the ambiance of over 400 horsepower.
With so many of my Italian automotive dreams, I am usually harshly awakened to reality by the price tag. As I peeled back the label of my new dream car, however, I’m happy to say that my shock was of joy instead of disappointment. I could have the Maserati Ghibli, an Italian masterpiece, for about the same as I would pay for a BMW 550i xDrive, an Audi S6/S7, or a Mercedes-Benz E550 Sportmatic! Starting at $65,000 I could even get the S version in rear wheel drive. They even offer a Q4 all-wheel drive model making it one of the most complete option lists I’ve ever encountered in an all new luxury platform.
With the Ghiblil, Maserati has given us every day, enjoyable luxury that only Italian styling could bring, and has raised the stakes in the luxury automotive poker game with a very strong hand. Don’t take my word for it. Come experience it for yourself Herb Chambers Maserati.
